The Valley YMCA runs a introductory kayak class
every quarter. Otter Sports used to graciously
provide their demo kayaks, skirts, and paddles
for these classes. That's no longer possible, so
I'm hoping the local boating community has a few
older kayaks you'd be willing to donate for a
charitable deduction. The YMCA is an official
charitable organization and can give you a
written receipt for tax purposes. If you've got
an older kayak, skirt, and/or paddle lying around 
this is a great way to help build the local
kayaking community while getting a tax
writeoff.
